The cells of the intestines have the fastest turnover rate of any cells of the body, thus they require optimal nutrients to keep these cells in constant/optimal health. When the proper type and quantity of the missing nutrients are replace, the cells can thrive, the intestinal wall muscles become stronger and can then more efficiently remove the excess fluid from the intestinal contents.
